Azurescens

Unlike most mushrooms that are grown inside, this mushroom is excellent for outdoor cultivation. It grows excellent on woodchips ( love oak and alder wood chips ). In the north-western parts of Europe, the best time to start cultivating outside is in spring.

In southern Europe, with a warmer climate, the best time to start cultivating is in September-December. Psilocybe Azurescens prefer to grow in colder, wetter places. Therefore, they are not ideal to grow indoors. If you have a small yard where the sun is always shining, growing Psilocybe Azurescens is not for you.

You should live in a place where the autumn season is cold and wet. P.Azurescens also come up during autumn and right before the beginning of winter. The whole process from preparing the spawn to the fruiting is a long process so it should be started as early as January.
